>CASSIDY NEEDS OUR HELP<
A member of the TNR group Sterilization Nation contacted us today. They found a stray cat with a terrible eye condition.
Cassidy’s eyes have obviously been infected for a long time without any kind of treatment. Her corneas are dangerously eroded all the way through the membrane. Once this happens liquid inside the eyeball starts to leak out until the eyeball ruptures, then collapses. To put it simply, her eyeballs are about to burst.
Cassidy has been suffering and trying to make her way blindly outdoors living as a stray. Cassidy needs surgery very soon to have her eyes removed. From there it will be the road to recovery as we address her other needs with routine vet care.
Any donations towards Cassidy’s care are gratefully received. With your help we can stop her suffering to give her a second chance! Thank you

Partners For Pets is a licensed, 501(c)3, no-kill animal rescue located in Troy, IL. Partners for Pets regularly visits animal control facilities and rescues animals that have used up their time, need medical care, and/or are too fragile for shelter life. Partners for Pets provides care to each animal prior to adoption. This includes, depending on their age: booster shots, deworming, heartworm check & monthly preventative, rabies shot, spay/neuter, grooming, flea/tick prevention, and other necessary care.
Veterinary care is provided at reduced cost through Horseshoe Lake Animal Hospital and St. Louis Veterinary Center. A big "Thank You" to Horseshoe Lake Animal Hospital and Carol House Quick Fix for all of their excellent work. About 5% of the animals are kept in foster care until adopted while the other 95% are kept in a shelter environment until they are adopted.
For more information about adopting an animal, please click on the "Adoptable Pets" tab. Adoptions take place every Saturday at the O'Fallon, IL PetSmart, every Sunday and the first Saturday of the month at the Glen Carbon, IL PetSmart, and every Sunday at the Edwardsville, IL Petco. (Note: O'Fallon adoptions are dogs only.)
Sponsor a Shelter Animal
Unfortunately, many of the animals we pull from animal control facilities are either injured or hurt. You can help by sponsoring a pet today to help get them back on track to being healthy and adoptable.
Volunteer Your Time
There is a lot of help needed with direct care for the animals. However, there is much more that needs to be done! Do you have design and/or computer skills? Are you good with marketing? There are so many opportunities to help!
Foster a Pet
When you foster, Partners for Pets provides a crate or litter box, food, and all vet care. We simply ask you to share your love and home with the animal until they are adopted by their forever family.
What They Need
Help the dogs and cats at the shelter by donating some of the supplies needed to provide them with the best care possible. Items needed include things like cleaning supplies, collars/leashes, beds, and toys.
Maxine came to Partners for Pets this week after being rescued from St.Clair County Animal Control where she was brought in as a stray.
Maxine was noted to have an injury in her right rear leg that would need attention. Upon intake it became apparent that Maxine's injury had not happened recently. An x-ray was completed & found that Maxine had, at some point in time been shot. The bullet is still present & has caused permanent damage to Maxine's leg & hip.
Despite this horrific injury caused by the hand of man-Maxine is extremely, extremely loving & will make a wonderful pet. Maxine is scheduled for an amputation of her right rear leg next week with our friend Dr.Jacob at Red Bud Veterinary Service & will be available for adoption soon!
